Information You Provide Directly

When you use our service, you provide:

• Personal identifiers: Full name, street address, city, ZIP code, phone number, email address
• Driver's license number
• Citation information: Citation number, date of citation, issuing officer name, court, violation type, location
• Defense information: Your description of circumstances, evidence, mitigating factors, driving record information

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited, time on site, browser type, device type (via Google Analytics)
• IP address: Collected by our hosting provider (Netlify) and analytics services
• Cookies: Google Analytics and Google Ads use cookies for analytics and ad performance measurement

Payment Information

We do not collect or store your payment information. All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc., which is PCI DSS compliant. We only receive a confirmation that payment was successful and a session identifier. See Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide solely to:

• Generate your customized traffic citation defense letter
• Send you a confirmation email with your letter and confirmation code
• Allow you to retrieve your letter using your confirmation code
• Provide customer support if you contact us
• Improve our service through aggregated, anonymized analytics

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond delivering the service you purchased.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information and generated letter for 90 days from the date of purchase. After 90 days, your data is automatically and permanently deleted from our systems.

This retention period exists solely to allow you to retrieve your letter during the period when it may be relevant to your traffic case. Hawaii traffic citations have a 21-day response deadline; 90 days provides reasonable access beyond that window.

You may request deletion of your data before the 90-day period by contacting us at HITicketDefense@gmail.com with your confirmation code.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the following service providers, and only as necessary to deliver our service:

• Supabase — secure database storage for your letter and form data (supabase.com)
• Resend — transactional email delivery for your confirmation email (resend.com)
• Stripe — payment processing (stripe.com)
• Anthropic — AI letter generation via Claude API (anthropic.com)
• Netlify — website hosting and serverless functions (netlify.com)
• Google — analytics and advertising measurement (google.com)

Each of these providers processes data only as instructed by us and is bound by their own privacy policies and applicable law.

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

6. Data Security

We implement the following security measures to protect your information:

• All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS
• Your form data is stored in Supabase with Row Level Security enabled — no public access permitted
• All API keys and credentials are stored as server-side environment variables, never in client-side code
• Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — no card data touches our systems
• Access to our database is restricted to authorized server-side functions only

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a secure network when submitting personal information.

7. Your Rights

All Users

• Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Deletion: You may request deletion of your data at any time before the automatic 90-day deletion
• Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate information

California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

• The right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
• The right to delete your personal information
• The right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
